Background Plots :

Seeking the Font of Time in order to change what has passed.

What Amiar has learned during his travels:

1 Powerful Artifact, creation Circa -1800’s DR (today’s year is 1372 making the Font around 3,000 years old ). Unsure if it still exists or ever did, Amiar has his suspicions based on a reference he found in an ancient tome in the Towers of Thought [temple of Oghma in Selgaunt]. The Font is said to have the power to “..change what has come to pass.”

2 Murroh, The Priest Librarian, gave this info:

A second reference is made to the Font in Unique Mageries, a tome written by the Archmagi Nezram.

Copies of this section may have been made from the original volume, and Murroh believes it possible to locate such a copy.

Possible places to look, listed geographically from West to East:

A) The Domes of Reason – Temple of Oghma in Procampur. The Vast

B) The Master’s Library– Temple of Deneir in Iron Mnt, hidden peak in Earthfast Mnts. Bloodstone Lands

C) The Arcanum of Magic – Temple of Thoth in the city of Gheldaneth. Mulhorand.

3 Discovered while in Scornubel:

Nezram the Transmuter, also known as “The Worldwalker”, was a powerful Mulhorandi archmage that lived around 800 years ago. He discovered the Font in the wastes of the Raurin desert and wrote about the experience in his spelltome Unique Mageries.

4 Discovered in Iriaebor:

643/Year of the Nesting Harpy

The wizard Nezram “the Worldwalker” leaves his tower on the shores of Azulduth.

About Unique Mageries

Large, thin tome measures four handwidths across by ten in height and its covers are of carved and polished ivory with black obsidian inlays picking out the letters of the title in the Mulhorandi tongue, surrounded by a circle. The book has 21 gilt-edged parchment pages and is said to contain over a dozen spells crafted by the Worldwalker.

The tome describes what the Font looks like, what it does and how to activate it.

5 Discovered in Saerloon:

681/Year of the Zombie Lords

Nezram's tower destroyed by the young green dragon Chathuulandroth. Nezram's children are scattered or slain. The dragon flew off to the lonely mountainous regions to the west.

6 Speculation on Nezram’s disappearance

-Nezram was slain by a rival mage in a mighty spell-battle over the city of Gheldanath in 650 DR

-There exists an account recorded by the great transmuter of powerful serpentfolk lairing beneath the Lake of Salt. It is upon investigation into these beings that Nezram disappears in the Year of the Nesting Harpy.

-Nezram discovered a spell that ascended him into godhood. He became an aspect of Isis worshipped by his descendants.

7 Nezram was a great transmuter who specialized in Gem-based magic. The “Ruby-Ray of Reversal” was one of his most famous spells still used today.

8 683/Year of the Tainted Troll

The grand-nephew of Nezram the World-Walker, Nezras seeks knowledge that will restore his uncle's tome to his keeping. The young but already learned mage arrives in Myth Drannor where he joins the Six Tyryl Towers to learn more of magic.

Some letters recovered from the ruined city written by Nezras to his elven wife, a fellow student named Raejiisa Sicafei, whom he married in the Year of the Unshriven 686 DR. Penned in the Year of Portents Perilous 707 DR during a visit Nezras made to Mulhorand, the letters discuss reports of powerful serpentfolk haunting his granduncle’s ruined tower and give an accounting of his inconclusive spell battle with one of them.

Amiar’s Journal

The Font of Time

Entry 1:

20th of Flamerule, 7th month of The Year of Wild Magic, 1372 DR

The Sanctum of the Scroll, Temple to Oghma in Selgaunt.

While researching the God-Kings of the East, I came across reference to an artifact of unique powers named “The Font of Time.” The reference dates back to the golden age of Mulhorandi expansion (circa -1800’s DR) which would make the Font at least 3,000 years of age. The Font is said to have the power to “..change what has come to pass.” At this time, I cannot be certain if the reference is credible and have found no other information to support the existence of the Font.

Entry 2:

15th of Marpenoth, 10th month of The Year of Wild Magic, 1372 DR

Tower of Velanthiar, Saerloon.

I am writing this in the dead of night after having awoke from a vision sent by the Goddess herself ! Far beit from me to be taken by my own fantasies, but never have I had a dream as vivid in imagery and clear in message. The Font does exist, of that I believe with conviction. Without evidence however, my beliefs are nothing more than fiction, as my master would say. He would not understand my desire to seek out this artifact nor approve of the energy diverted from making profits.

Entry 3:

11th of Ches, 3rd month of The Year of Rogue Dragons, 1373 DR

The Silent Room, Temple of Deneir in Suzail.

My funds have been depleted. Nothing useful uncovered in the libraries of this city. Leaving for the Sword Coast on the morrow with a merchant caravan bound for Waterdeep.

…………………

Entry 8:

5th of Eleasis, 8th month in the Year of Rogue Dragons, 1373 DR.

The Font of Knowledge, Temple of Oghma in Waterdeep.

Some interesting leads to follow, need money once again. Heading north for a tenday with the Thousandhead Trading Coster, should have plenty of coin by my return.

Entry 9:

12th of Marpenoth, 11th month in the Year of Rogue Dragons, 1373 DR.

Inn of the Dripping Dagger, Waterdeep

A town not far to the east called Secomber has a small library and a librarian said to be very knowledgable.

Entry 10: My time for scribing is short. beware the stranger.
